Literacy Methodology

The purpose of this study is to identify if there is a relationship between parents reading with their child at home and the reading performance of students in a guided reading setting of classroom. The rationale of the study is to determine the role of literacy at home and its impact on the young children's performance at school (Connell, 2002).

The participants of this study are children studying at schools and their parents. They were chosen as the participants because the responsiveness is high and they are the most suitable respondents for the criteria of this research.
