Introduction:

For the task given I met Robert A. Milton CEO - ACE Aviation Holdings. Robert Milton was appointed Chairman and CEO of ACE Aviation Holdings. (ACE) September 30, 2004. ACE is the parent holding company that owns the assets of reorganized Air Canada and separate legal entities such as Aero plan, Jazz, Air Canada Technical Services, Air Canada Cargo, Air Canada Ground Handling Services, and Destina.ca Tour is (Air Holidays Canada). Mr. Milton, who is also Chairman of Air Canada, has served as president and CEO of Air Canada from August 1999 to December 2004. Just days after the entry of Mr. Milton office as CEO, Air Canada faced a hostile takeover bid launched by Onex and American Airlines. The defense led by Mr. Milton has successfully counter the hostile bid in September of that year. During his tenure as CEO, Mr. Milton, the Company has managed to overcome some of the biggest challenges in the history of the airline industry, including the economic slowdown and the bursting of the tech bubble The aftermath of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 in the United States and the impact of SARS on Toronto's main hub for Air Canada (Marcelo G, Cruz 2002). In 2003-2004, Mr. Milton led the restructuring of Air Canada to compete effectively in the new airline environment. As part of this restructuring, Air Canada has reduced its operating costs to a competitive level through the renegotiation of collective agreements, aircraft leases and various other trade agreements; implemented a program of renewal the fleet; completed the restructuring of its debt and lease obligations; redefined its product base and reorganized its corporate structure to enable key business segments, including loyalty management, the cargo, ground services and technical services to better compete for contracts to third parties and generate value for stakeholders.

Discussion:

As he is the CEO of the organization, so he had lot of responsibilities, there are many employees working under him and he is leading them, he told me that his responsibilities are more than we expect.

He is working in this organization since 15 years and had a great experience working in this organization.

To the question of how he motivates his employees under him he answered that the strategy used by the organization is that they have evaluations points for the performance and they lock the bonuses of the employees. And they are given to them twice in a year, and have given many facilities to employees which motivate them, he also said that they appraisals system of the employees are also done by 360 degree evaluation.

This type of degree used is the perfectly done and all the appraisals are handled without any discrepancy. There are 3 managers who report to him directly about the happenings and current situations of the work done in organization.
