Introduction

In today's world, loyalty no longer carries any importance in the face of the economic crisis our country faces. Companies that would hire people for the effective part of their whole lives cannot guarantee their employees a job for the next few months. In the face of these threats that will increase manifold in the future, a person needs to change his outlook and look far ahead than just individual goals. The change is necessary in order to ensure his survival in the markets in the future. For this, the individual needs to rely on himself, be focused and motivated to bring about the change in him.

Individuals need to think more than just being merely employees. They need to renovate themselves into a brand and head towards dedication, brilliance, passion and achievement. The help of social media must be used to indicate a person's strength and build a suitable portfolio for him.

Discussion

It is important to observe what matters most in today's world and change yourself accordingly in order to meet the challenges of the time. While there are many imperative changes and steps that I need to adopt, an important part of my strategy would be to garner my strengths in the social media (Peters, T, 1999).

In order to achieve my goals, there are many steps that I need to go through. First is specifying my goals, which I have already decided would be focused on becoming one of the great journalists of the time.

The most important of all the tasks lie in acquiring credibility and an image which can be accomplished through the use of social media. This off course would require me of using the main social mediums such as LinkedIn, Face book, Twitter and other well known websites (Shinder, 2010).

Websites like LinkedIn are purely professional websites that enable you to connect with the professional world. This is not to suggest that Face book or Twitter carry any least importance. Face book is a useful social platform to engage and discover new people. I intend to use these websites to forward and market my professional and personal values. Face book profile will suitably help me to forward all my academic and professional achievements, while the same can be done on other websites (Shinder, 2010).
