Ethically and legally, patients have the right to know what is in their medical records. This information often includes the costs and burdens of treatment, clinical experience suggested the nature of the disease and treatment options. The ethical responsibility to divulge pertinent knowledge about human reproduction to the enduring may clash with the physician's private significance benchmarks on abortion, sterilization, or contraception.
