Abstract

This study provides the basic concepts and foundations for the language learning which involves proper system of language learning depending on the cognitive development and neuroscience, . According to this study it is a general concept that language learning is a natural process which is controlled by the activities of neurons and nerve cells. It is commonly associated with the language acquisition process which involves the concept of providing a better understanding of the language system. Along with the development of the brain and various nerves, the centers for language learning begin to develop in the mind. This mainly deals with the better approaches to the language learning and acquisition. This provides the basis for the beginning of general construction of the language frame work. This is the reason that it deals with the process of language acquisition. This study also highlights various other terms associated with the process of language learning. It is commonly associated with the process of language function and various other processes and systems of development associated with the cognitive development and neuroscience. This study also deals with the issues which deal with process of language acquisition. It discusses different aspects of nativism, empiricism and rationalism. This assist in understanding the problems associated with the process of language learning.

Introduction

Language learning is a natural process which depends on the language exposure in the surroundings. It depends on language learning ability of a child. Language learning depends on the mental ability of a child or an individual. This link between the language learning ability and mental capacity of an individual attracted various researchers from the field of science and linguistics to improve the language learning process. In this way, the most important aspect of language learning is defined as child's ability to understand the problems associated with the language learning skills. This highlights the need of understanding the concept of combining different fields of science related to the study of brain functions. The main focus of this study is to provide a better understanding of the language learning process, so that it can assists in developing strategies for the second language learning or to deal with the problem of language learning disabilities.

This resulted in combining the field of neuroscience and linguistic psychology. The cognitive study is directly associated with the development of understanding and perception. It is commonly associated with the cognitive developmental aspects which deal with the brain development and ability to think and understand. The concept of cognitive development in the field of language learning was basically introduced by Jean Piaget. Elman, et. al. (1997) deals with the advances in neuroscience and the process rethinking.
