NUCLEAR ENERGY

Nuclear Energy

Statement of theoretical framework of this study i.e. research paper “Is there exist a bright side for every evil and such is the case with Nuclear Energy that is looked upon as a disaster”

Introduction

The topic that I have selected is “debate on nuclear energy”. The reason why I selected this topic is not only because it is of my interest but it is the topic most commonly discussed and criticized in research papers of academic journals. Nuclear energy can be defined as the energy that is emitted by the using Uranium, which is a metal found and mined all over the world

Nuclear energy was initially discovered in 1896 by a French physicist Henri Becquerel who observed that photographic plates that were kept in close proximity towards uranium were becoming dark, similar to X-ray plates (Barry, 2010, p. 12)

Summary of the Study Questions

Debate on nuclear energy in this paper covers several distinct questions which include questions as to why does nuclear energy is considered as a disaster, why this topic is so debatable, and what are the viable points in support of it negative effects

Further it paper revolves around one main question that although it has some negative impacts but it is also beneficial to the environment. In order to support this argument around which the theoretical framework revolves a qualitative research was conducted and proper finding and evaluation is presented in this article

Research methodology

The research methodology according to be is quite apt as researchers such as Alan McDonald, Uranium Institute and International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) have undertaken not only undertaken online surveys but also conducted focus groups and done proper research with respect to the advantages and disadvantages of nuclear energy (Ackland, 2010, p. 8)

This qualitative approach of research with respect to the methodology brought about various valuable finding with respect to why nuclear energy is a debatable topic as it highlights the pros and cons attached to this topic.

Methods and Key Findings

Some key findings with respect to the methods brought about in this research paper through the methodology mentioned above are that nuclear energy involves certain risk which includes:

Risk Environment:

This means the risk that is associated with the environment, which further gives rise to the problem of fuel supply, that is to say, fissionable materials, and the question of waste, can have longevity of thousands of years). (Boudes, 2011, p. 7)

With respect to the risk it poses to the environment can be checked if we look back at history specifically on August 6, 1945, the world's first experience towards nuclear power was brought about when two fission nuclear bombs were blown up in Japan in August 1945 (Karl, 2008, p. 7). This was blown over Hiroshima and Nagasaki which led to the First World War 1. (Chalvatzis, 2010, p.7)

Millions of people were killed, causing destruction worldwide. Seeing this later when the war came to an end, numerous scientists and laypersons looked about how to make this powerful tool use for ...
