Introduction

Statistics have verified that the rate of fatness in adults and young kids are two times as much as they were in 1980, and triple the allowance for adolescents. The increasing rate of fatness is a gigantic concern because it is connected to numerous big wellbeing anxieties, such as cancer. Sedentary way of life and ready-availability of high caloric nourishment have caused fatness in North America. America is home to the most obese people in the world. According to the CDC (Center for infection command and Prevention), obesity in mature persons has expanded by 60% within the past twenty years and obesity in children has tripled in the past thirty years. Astaggering 33% of American adults are obese and obesity-related deaths have ascended to more than 300,000 a year, second only to tobacco-related deaths. Not omitted from this statistic, Native Hawaiians have alarmingly high rates of obesity, diabetes and heart disease. The number of Hawaiian young kids pain from obesity is double that of young kids throughout the nation. In May 2001 the University of Hawaii Kinesiology and Leisure research Department along with the Brigham Young University workout and games research Department undertook a localizedized study and discovered that more than 20% of Hawaiian young kids were overweight.

Hawaiians aren't the only indigenous persons in America that have high rates of obesity. According to Dr. Kelly Brownell, PhD, an expert on American diet and health, a study was conducted with the Pima Indians who live both in Mexico and Arizona. It was found that those Pima Indians who live in Arizona have much higher rates of fatness than their counterparts in Mexico, even though both assemblies of persons have the identical genetic and ethnic background. This is furthermore factual for many migrants of the US who have a much higher fatness rate than their relatives back home. (American Obesity Association 2011)

Background

So the question is, why the American people? What do we do that is so distinct than the rest of the world? There is no secret behind this outbreak- we simply need to analyze the American diet and lifestyle. Living a life on the proceed, consuming fast-food and microwave dinners, the wellbeing of the American persons has been sacrificed. Instead of eating a diet of pure, healthy nourishment coming exactly from the land, Americans eat a diet of packaged, processed, and perfected foods.

Through technological advancement we have found ways to make food in mass amounts, make it last longer and flavour better. Unfortunately, throughout this processing somewhere along the line, we seemed to have lost the food. The highly processed and perfected goods that pack our supermarket shelves are laden with sugar, hydrogenated oils, and plenty more components that we can't even pronounce.
