Oppression

Oppression is an efficient exploitation of social group with the support structure of society oppressive for example Sexism, Racism, anti Semitism and homophobia. Oppression is been called as a controversial subject due to its competition between different oppressed groups and disagreement on the grounds of oppression. (Cudd, 1994, 22).

Three main approaches to oppression are there: (Cudd, 1994, 22)

Humanist approach

Identity Approach

Marxist Approach

Marxist Approach

Effects and causes of oppression are the main focus of Marxist approach it is not focusing on the actual experience analysis. Oppression effect is to divide workers and make it much Rebellion and difficult against the established order according to the approach of Marx. There is a logical scapegoat to encourage some of the employees their interest is not designated in the unity of all employees.

Therefore male employees get support and relief form their condition when they dominate female in return. This is the vision in which all workers have an interest in the exploitation of all oppression. This is only possible with the rule defeat of profit on the whole of the social life. There is a fight being fought against the oppression which is taken as a part of education and organization of the employees. The division can only help ruling classes due to any campaign or strike.

Identity Approach

In this identity approach there is a conflict between the interest of the entire society and oppressed groups. For example in this view oppression of black would benefit white ,Female oppression would benefit male, oppression of homosexual would benefit heterosexual, etc. (Jackson, 1992,1).

Humanistic Approach

This approach sees oppression roots in the basis of individuals and according to this approach the solution to injustice can be obtained by the fighting through education. This approach is not focusing on the occurrence of conflict between different types of social groups. Self violence is not obviously being called as oppression. But according to the modern neuroscience social oppression is a type of physical violence which scares people so genuinely as the strokes caused by the bruises. (Jackson, 1992, 1)

The effects of oppression were demonstrated in an experiment done on an animal which are called as the experimental studies of animal model. In these research normal mice was exposed to dominate mouse. In United States an experiment was conducted in which different mouse were taken into observation for ten days. Each day different dominant mouse was used. At the end of the experiment it was observed that the mice showed evidences of severe depression. Those who conducted the experiment also observed that the brain of the mouse had suffered ruthless damage. (Jackson, 1992, 1)

There are proteins in the brain know as BDNF, which are linked with the sociability, memory and learning ability. There is gene in the body of living thing that controls the production this protein. In the mouse this gene expression is repressed. It was also found from this research that treatment with antidepressants can reduce mouse psychological symptoms. It was not able to overturn gene ...
