Philosophy

Do you think some of the activities of philosophy are more important than others? Explain.

The philosophy today is the activity of searching through reason, knowledge that is not accessible through science. There are questions that science can not answer, because science is the field that only deals with the accumulation of the evidence regarding a particular study. For example, if we want to investigate the phenomenon of memory, we can study cell biology and biophysics after work and start exploring how the axons of neurons form giant squid and then propose neural networks. We may indeed describe many things, but to describe the memory in scientific terms we need to know what we want to describe. What is memory? Describing what we need to describe or answering the question of what memory is, would be a philosophical question, not scientific. Once we have a philosophical answer scientists can investigate how the brain and its neurons form memories. Philosophical activity consists of reading philosophy and looks for a field or a question you or other philosophers have left unanswered, or whose answer seems unsatisfactory. If you are lucky, maybe occur to a more promising one, and then one is doing philosophy. Moreover, finding a question that does not seem satisfactory is not a matter of appearances. It requires a deep understanding of the problem and the answers have been given, and only then begin to raise doubts worthwhile (Rodriguez-Pereyra, Gonzalo, 2008, p. 33-38).

Now that the concept of activities in philosophy has been considered, it can be said that some of the activities in philosophy are important than others. This is said, considering the fact that reading activity in philosophy is much more important than the activity of creating questions in philosophy. This is said because of the fact that unless the reading activity is done, the act of creating question and answering them can not be performed. Hence, it can be said that some of the activities in philosophy are more important than others.

What is it that entertainment media raise philosophical issues but do not always give answers? Does this add to or detract from their value as entertainment?

The formulation of the reviews presented by media has also coincided with the different solutions proposed trying to remedy the widespread exclusion of public communication processes articulated by the media. Facing the excessive corporatism of the press or to the alleged "sanctity of journalism” should also be recognized that in the last twenty years there have been many attempts for resolution. Although it emphasizes on different aspects, these proposals share the general idea that additional efforts are needed by the media and their professionals to meet their public, listen and thus aspire to establishing a more symmetrical communication, effective horizontal between senders and receivers of media elaborated on, for example, Bogart who, referring to the North American context, suggested-and mid-eighties-a strategy oriented towards the reader to try to sound out permanently the public and take the pulse accurately to an audience that you can ...
