Planned Parenthood

Thesis Statement

A multidimensional concept that describes people's ability to use the necessary health care is immediately wherever they are.

The phrase “multidimensional concept” is the crux of the definition as most people view accessibility as a one-dimensional issue with regard to location and other spatial or geographical concerns.

Introduction

Since its foundation in 1916 by Margaret Sanger, America's first birth control clinic “Planned Parenthood” has been lauded on the front as a trusted, reliable, and informative source of counseling and birth control, including abortions. Also part of an industry fraught with controversy, mystery, pain and complications, “Planned Parenthood”'s claim to fame is that they care about women's and patient's rights to accurate information and safe and effective family planning. However, even those on the inside - the abortionists and nurse assistants - admit that they routinely lie to get women to abort for monetary reasons, and that abortion is far from 'safe.' Judy W., a former office manager of the second largest abortion clinic in El Paso, Texas, said, "If a woman we were counseling expressed doubts about having an abortion, we would say whatever was necessary to persuade her to abort immediately."

Critical Analysis of Health

“Planned Parenthood” has become a criminal behemoth, operating on lies and preying on women and girls in difficult and easily influenced positions despite the risk to their lives and well-being. “Planned Parenthood” (henceforth “Planned Parenthood”) in its mission statement declares, "We believe that such self-determination... (Of reproductive rights)...will contribute to an enhancement of the quality of life...(and we) accord all patients the right the receive accurate answers to questions about their health care and medical procedures." The words of “Planned Parenthood” blatantly contradict the results of their industry. Masked by fictitious and deceptive information, “Planned Parenthood” seriously compromises the physical and mental well-being of the women whom they purport to help through performing abortions.

The Canadian Journal of Public Health states that 1 in 24 women have experienced immediate medical complications after an abortion, including, but not limited to, severe bleeding, infection, perforation of the uterus, and part of the baby being retained. It also puts them at significantly higher risks for complications in the future. The American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology found that "Legal abortion contributes to an increase in ectopic pregnancy...30% increase after one abortion, 160% increased risk after two or more abortions...also a 600% increased risk of Placenta Previa, a condition producing extremely severe, life threatening bleeding in future pregnancies." One in four women experience complications in future pregnancies after abortions, including excessive bleeding, premature delivery, cervical damage, sterility, abnormal positioning of the baby and a 200% increased risk of miscarriage (Journal of the American Medical Association). Clearly, these are more than just a few erroneous studies that some nut job pro-lifer managed to dig up and publish. The Canadian Journal of Public Health, The American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology, and the Journal of the American Medical Association are all well-known and well-respected sources of study-based, factual ...
