Introduction

It was Darwin, the English scientist, who woke the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900) from his dogmatic slumber. Evolution offered a new framework within which Nietzsche could ruthlessly analyze the place of humankind in this universe. Having claimed that “God is dead!” is a truth about reality; he then called for a thoroughgoing reevaluation of all values.
