Introduction

The main purpose of this paper is to make an analysis on the material and connect it to the professional and personal experience. The five materials to be analysed are boys of Baraka, colour of fear, waging a living, the understanding of adults and savage unrealities.

Film: Boys of Baraka (from PBS)

The movie Boys of Baraka is a great depiction of the human tragedies. I believe that the movie depicts the discrimination of the American-African boys who failed to graduate. The movie is a depiction of the drug dealers, and the frustration of the families affected by the drug dealings. The movie featured four boys in it. These boys had individual talents, and their personalized charms were also different. Instead of their individual talents and features, their fate were same. The movie, boys of America reveal that no matter what the consequences are, it is very easy for the youngsters to achieve their aim by struggling hard. The movie is a depiction that how these boys worked to find the traditional strengths of the black community and succeeded in it. The director of the movie has emphasized on the importance of the support of the family and community. He said that it is the family's and community's support that lead the boys towards achieving their aims of life. The family was aware that these boys can show their potential in any school apart from the Baltimore schools. These boys got admitted to the Baraka school. The main aim of this school was to provide all the opportunities to the African-American boys which they could not avail in the Baltimore school. These boys took this opportunity as a chance to prove their abilities by overcoming all the difficulties. The record of Baraka school in terms of making efforts was very good. These African-American students could not graduate; therefore, they got admitted to Baraka school. The rate of the school was very good. In Baraka school, they learned so many things, and as they returned to Baltimore they came back with the new passions and enthusiasm. Their confidence in their abilities and skills increased that lead towards an increase in their hopes.

In this movie, I will discuss one of my personal experiences. I am also a black African and faced the same problems in my education field. When I got admitted to the primary school, I faced much discrimination in terms of racism. The administration did not provide me the equal facilities and opportunities to grow my potential. I started feeling much inferior and felt that I do not have the abilities to prove myself. Afterwards, I left my education with the belief that I cannot do anything. After that, I got the opportunity to get admission in a school which was only for the African-Americans. The school provided me the learning and development facilities.
