Abstract

Employee's satisfaction related to the work they do when companies provide them proper support in part of their work. Companies look for methods to provide there employee job satisfaction and look for retention of employees. Individuals have several basic intrinsic needs that must be met in the workplace to feel satisfied. As a manager, if you can meet these needs for your staff, you can positively influence retention. In many cases, nurturing good relationships with your employees can override negative effects of extrinsic organizational factors. Different things motivate different people, and you may need to use multiple strategies to achieve individual employee satisfaction and improve performance. In general, staff seek a mutually supportive relationship with their supervisor, a sense of belonging and security, a feeling of contribution, control over or input into decisions regarding their work, and appreciation.

Job satisfaction is the most widely studied work attitude in organizational behavior. To understand the influence of emotions on behavior, we need to understand the concept called attitude. In every communication, including information on how the change will benefit the organization and the people related to it. Attitudes represent the cluster of beliefs, assessed feelings and behavioral intentions toward a person, object or event.

Most executive agree that effective communication is crucial for the successful of the organization. Just about everything supervisor do requires communicating. One Study found supervisor spend 53% of their time in meeting, plus 15% writing and reading, plus 9% on the phone. Another found that, including meetings and interacting with customers and colleagues, supervisor spent 60% to 80% of their time communicating (Light, 2004).

Communication refers to the process which information is transmitted and understood between two or more people. The word understood is emphasis because transmitting the sender's intended meaning is the essence of good communication (Light, 2004).

Supervisor should give their employees an image of the final result. Change is easier to handle when people know where it leads. Provide a clear picture of what all the activity will result. Be realistic, make sure the key influencers and employees that everyone seem to listen and understand their vision so they can transmit it to others. There should a balance maintained in the priorities set. A labor force works for the good of an organization as a whole, but remember that employees have their own personal needs. Do not rely solely on email or unreliable source of communication to persuade people to change. Online communication is fast and efficient, but devoid of emotional impact. Consider the face to face meetings and other communication mediums that allow people to ask questions and share feelings.
