CHAPTER 2: LITERATURE REVIEW

I have a friend Julie whose sister faced a critical issue related to a domestic violence. Julie's sister Amanda got married a few years back. The guy she got married to used to work under her father in a MNC. Amanda's father though he took a wise decision in getting her daughter get married to the guy. After a few months the guy tried to cheat on his wife Amanda and when she opposed him, he tried to violate the code of conducts and started beating her. In the beginning she tried to avoid the matters but then after a few days she complained to the local authorities and the whole family got involved in this case of domestic violence. This case will discusse domestic violence in relation to this case and some related cases available similar to this. This paper will discuss the present domestic violence (DV) literature that will assess the incidence and prevalence of DV by in writing reviews and verbal interrogating presented by me. I have searched to analyze the prevalence of DV and with this I'll be discussing as got by a full-time, taught DV advocacy coordinator, and to contrast my outcomes with the discussed literature. This study can well be studied in the light of different laws produced by governments and legal authorities stated below;

Researchers often refer to the criminalization of domestic violence to the women's movement of the 1970s. However, assault has always been illegal, although police and prosecutors have in the past, not willing to enforce the law in cases of domestic violence. Before the women's movement (and growing recognition that domestic violence should be seriously dealt with by the criminal justice system), called the officers, the scene of a domestic assault have been trained to mediate the situation and were not inclined to the attacker in the arrest incident. Feminists have argued that these attitudes exist because women were traditionally considered men's property so far, so to justify violence against them (or at least be able to ignore). Others claim that domestic incidents to clarify difficult for the police to end with as many incidents, "he said, she said:" affairs, with little evidence in either direction. Handling cases of domestic violence can also be viewed as not serious work of the police. After doing a traditional crime control police officers do not view domestic violence problem in the best social workers deal left.

An important event for the actions of criminal justice in relation to domestic violence, the Violence Against Women Act into law by President William Clinton signed in 1994. The law was renewed in 2000 and again in 2005 (by President George W. Bush), has additional provisions for the protection of abused women.
