The Death Penalty for Female Offenders

Thesis statement

The thesis statement for this paper is that the death penalty for female offenders should be assessed on a different criteria in comparison to the criteria that is used to assess and deliver the death penalty for female offenders; mainly because male and female offenders differ because of their role in society (Elliott, Eldridge, Ashfield & Beech, 2010).

Hypothesis/Statement of prediction regarding the results

This brief hypothesizes that the working solution to the problem will be based on the establishment of a set of variables that allow the justice system to consider the gender based responsibilities of the offenders when considering the delivery of the death penalty (Johnson, 2010). However, it is imperative to highlight at this point that the working solution for this problem can only be hypothesized at this point since there is still a need for extensive and extended research; research that is dedicated for the development of the actual paper. However, there is no doubt that the research that was performed for the development of this brief will serve as the groundwork for the actual research paper. It is in the light of this preliminary research work that the above mentioned possible work solution has been hypothesized.

Measurement and analysis approach

With regard to measurement and analysis, the research will make use of observations from peer-reviewed publications for data collection purposes. Data handling and analysis will be given careful consideration to ensure that no research limitations influence the research findings. In order to generate an adequate set of findings that is relevant to the research subject, the research process will incorporate crime statistics to substantiate inferences and derivations.
