Should Gay Couples Be Allowed to Marry?

Introduction

The term gay refers to the person attached with the person of same sex. However the term now particularly refers to the relationship between men to men. Being homosexual doesn't signify that a person is against the country or a rebellion. But this issue has been under discussion ever since the 1965 when a movement was started to claim equal treatment in society for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender well known as LGBT movement. In this paper I would attempt to find the answer of the question that should gay couples be allowed to get married? In my opinion, I strongly believe that gay marriages should be legitimized. People should have the right to choose the person whom they want to spend their lives. (Wolfson, Pp. 567-615)

Gay people should also have the right to enjoy their life completely, and constitution should acknowledge them. As according to the first amendment of the American Constitution every citizen has the freedom to spend their lives. It has also been argued by the supporters that government has no right to invade the privacy of the bedroom, and should stay out of the bedroom's affairs. People have no right to treat gay people as second class citizen or something. As this is same as in past people were barred from marrying the person of different race. This practice of denying gay marriages reflects clear discrimination with them. I am of the view that nobody has the right to interfere in anyone's personal life. If two persons agreed on spending life with each other than nobody should be authorized to limit them. “Did we vote for your marriage” this was inscribed on the placard hold by a supporter of gay marriages.
