Abstract

In this research we try to explore the notion of change management in a holistic context. The main focus of the research is on effective communication and its relation with organizational change management. The research also analyzes many aspects of organizational change and tries to gauge its effect on Small Businesses. Finally the research describes various factors which are responsible for organizational change and tries to describe the overall effect of effective communication strategies on management of organizational changes.

Chapter 1: Introduction

The role that change management plays in any given organization is a significant one. Over the years, numerous studies have been carried out on the subject and organizations have referred to such researches from time to time. However, whenever an organization is going through a change, it faces considerable number of problems and a smooth change is something not practically possible. This is because the effort required to manage change is in no way an easy one. By the managing change, it means that changes are applied in the organization in a systemic and planned manner.

In the context of any given organization, changes can be applied to various areas of the organization. Changes can be in any given version of a project that can be initiated either within the organization or through external means. For instance, changes can be brought about in the mission of the organization, change in operations including structural modifications, alterations in the organizational strategies, change in organizational policies, technological changes and changes in the behaviour and attitudes of the workforce within an organization.

When there is a process in an organization is not an easy task to make changes to this process immediately. Sometimes an organization may have a variety of entities and changes in the organization may be reflected in another organization. Instead, these organizations are not so easy.
