Background

During the 1970 and 2003, the younger children of the American families were not headed a single mother, getting up from 12 to 26 percent. This change was become the focus point of scholars and the policy makers. The poverty rate of the children, who were headed by a single mother, was high. The parents of these children were also like to drop out their child from the schools. The children have the wedlock that created the difficulties in the labor market when they came out for searching employment. This centre of study became the base of the welfare system of the America.

The term of state welfare became popular during the middle century of 20th. The purpose of the welfare state was to address programs for governmental responsibilities and the democratic dealing, the extensive range of the needs of the American like education, housing, economic security, health care, and child care. The American Welfare state also covered the old age pension group that was developed in 19th century (Albowicz 2004, p. 49).

Argument

The welfare system has become a need or the American citizens after the Great Depression. The aim of the welfare system was to help “the forgotten man”, the stereotypical American people who were associated with the management or manufacturing jobs. I believe that was a hard time when the American people needed to be aided by the American government. However, the government was subsidized the commodities and provided the free education programs. Now, when American is not suffering from such crises, the government responsibility is to change their welfare (American Humane Association 1999, p.25).

In order to help the poor families of America, the people are becoming more dependent in the country. American government should improve the welfare system in order to make people self dependent as well as should provide opportunities for employment. It has been proved by several researches that the human beings are sluggish in nature, and they do never want to do work. These helping or welfare opportunities have a worse impact on the society of America.

The willingness of work is diminishing among the poor people of America. A number of cases of labor child are being into concern in America. This increases in the labor child chow that the American are misusing the welfare system by taking work from their adolescence (Collins 2004, p.45). Not only the poor people are misusing this opportunity, but also the welfare systems are making their income by this process. American government should improve their welfare system by imposing some hard and strict rules and regulation. However, the most important element of my argument is that the government should not allow people to survive at the mercy of the welfare system for life time or several years. This is destroying the strength of the citizen to groom them.
