Application of Sociological Principles on Education Institutions

Abstract

In this study we try to explore the concept of “Sociological Principles” in a holistic context. The main focus of the research is on “Sociological Principles” and its application on “Educational Institutions”. The research also analyzes many aspects of socialization and tries to gauge its effect on educational institutions. Finally the research describes various factors which help in applying the sociological principles to the education institutions to enhance the social networking in the schools and other institutions which provide education to learners.

It is a human science; the object of study is to analyze their behavior and characteristics such as social that all man's social fabric is the field of sociology. Those responsible for conducting sociological research are the sociologists, who must avoid falling into an exaggerated sociological and / or an exaggerated technicality, to avoid misperceptions or subjective reality on a break down. (Gordon Marshall, 1998)

In 1980, Gorder K., wrote his book “Understanding School Knowledge and emphasized that school to be effective must be a social institution closely involving the company. The publication of the work of Democracy and education 1916, helped to give greater impetus to social approach to education. Educators are also concerned about the relationship between school and society. Started then, in the early twentieth century, to realize that education has to go beyond individual ensure the development and mastery of the subjects of the curriculum. Educators are concerned then the influence of social forces in education: the environment, the social group that moves the student, community, society at large; In other words, recognize the fact that education shall be directed and studied in their social context. We realized then that if our responsibility was to prepare children and young people to serve a society, we had to seek help from other disciplines as well of biology and psychology. The sociology of education is the scientific analysis of the relationship human in school and between school and other social systems. Education is one of the main activities, and perhaps the principal of our society, the relationship between service and other important social services.

Literature Review

Sociologists at the school were an effective means of implementing the sociology. This was recognized in the early twentieth century the relationship between sociology and education. According to Meighan, R. & Siraj (1997), the person who most influenced the development of sociology which was first pointed out the need to study education from a sociological perspective. Educators are also concerned about the relationship between school and society. Education conceived as a dynamic process that should change in accordance with needs of learners. Another contribution was that outlined the areas in field of education where needed true sociological research. These areas are: the relationship between education and social change, comparative studies of educational systems and the school as a social system, among others.
