Introduction

This paper is the summary of the Synthesis report on Climate change. The report is executed by the three Working Groups of the Intergovernmental Panel. The report provides a comprehensive assessment on the climate change. The evaluation of the climate change is the concluding part of the Intergovernmental Panel Climate Change's assessment report, also referred as (AR4). In the next section, we will briefly discuss the various segments of the Synthesis report.

Discussion & Analysis

The first section of the synthesis report examines the effects that take place due to global climatic change. It provides concrete evidence regarding the warnings of the climate system. Through observations and analysis of increase in ocean temperatures and global average air, it is quite evident that the major transformation in the climate system is taking place. The snow is melting at an accelerated pace, along with the rapid increase in average sea level. These are apparent signs of evolution of global climate system. The report also enlightens the fact that these major transitions in the natural system, majorly affected by regional changes in climate, specifically temperature increases. There is medium confidence that other causes of regional climate change on human and natural settings are emerging, though many are difficult to distinguish because of non-climatic drivers and adaptation.

The next section of the synthesis report presents the major causes of the climate change. Transformation in atmospheric concentrations of aerosols and greenhouse gases, solar radiation and land cover modify the balance of energy of the climate system. Global Green House gas discharge because of human movements has risen sharply since the pre-industrial times. Carbon dioxide gas, considered as one of the most significant anthropogenic Green House that currently exists in the global environment. Its annual emanation rose by staggering 80% between 1970 and 2004. The long-standing trend of declining CO2 discharge reversed after 2000. Global atmospheric concentrations of nitrous oxide (N2O), CO2, and methane (CH4) have also risen noticeably due to human intervention and activities since 1750. In 2005, Atmospheric concentrations of Carbon dioxide surpassed by far the natural range over the last 650,000 years. The two primary causes of Global increase of Carbon dioxide are the excessive use of fossil fuel and the land-use change. The increase in CH4 concentration is also mostly because of these two causes.
