Discussion

Sun Flowers is the name of the art I choose to talk about its painted using oil on canvas which is according to what we learn in our art class. Oil paint contains pigments that contain oil usually linseed oil. The oil acts likes a binder, creating as it dries a transparent film in which the pigment is suspended. Oil was used during the 15th century by the great artist Jan van Eyck, something that on Western culture was synonymous of oil painting. Is good to mention that the first place to work with this type of oil paint was in woods and eventually Canvas where Vincent van Gogh creates such as beautiful paint title Sun Flower. Canvas offers two advantages to the artists they can draw larger pictures and also travel easily with their paints because they can rolled them to travel with it. Canvas was prepared by stretching it over a wooden frame sizing it with glue to seal the fibers and protect them from corrosive action of oil paint and the coating it with a white, oil base ground.
