Constructive learning theory, problem solving, and transfer

The main objective of this theory is encouraging the construction or understanding of knowledge through education directly. It is designed primarily for use with learning based on the textbooks, lectures and multimedia environments where it is not possible activity (manipulation) behaviorist.  Beside educating thorugh any prearrangaed material, Jerome Bruner said about true learning that “figuring out how to use what ou already knw in order to go beyond what you already think” (1983, p.183). At another place, when the importance of cognitive and social perspective is being highlighted, an expert said “learning is an active process that is student-centered in the sense that, with the teachers help, learners select and transform informtiaon, construct hypotheses, and make decisions” (Chrenka, 2001, p.694).

Cooperative Learning in the Classroom

The work is structured so that each student participates in the fulfilment of the proposed task. This method supports the development of cognitive and social skills that are not innate. Students often have the opportunity to work together in the context of collaborative learning, will gradually put into practice these skills and thus acquire.
