Introduction

In this paper, we are discussing the use of iPads. The iPad is a tablet computer which designed and developed by Apple Inc. It is commonly considered as a platform for audio visual media which includes books, movies, periodicals, music, games, web content and applications. It weighs, and size is similar to lap tops and smart phones. The iPod can run its own applications as well as iPhone applications. It runs only those programs which are available in the Apple iPhone stores. IPad is controlled by touch display like iPhone which includes a virtual screen on the keyboard in lieu of physical keyboard. It uses WiFi device to access internet and local network connections. There are various models of IPad some even consists of 3G wireless network which can help in accessing the internet.

Apple released its first IPad in April 2010, and it sold 80 million in 80 days. Furthermore, in 2010 80 million laptops sold worldwide. This represents the 75% tablet PCs sale in the end of 2010. In March 2011, iPad 2 was released which sold 15 million iPads. In 2011, it took 83% of tablet PCs computing marketing share in United States. In the end, of 2011 15.4 million of iPads sold throughout the world. This comprises of 90% market share in the segment of tablet computers.

The display touch screen of iPad is 1024*768 pixels and LCD. It has a finger print resistant glass surface which is scratch resistant. Steve Jobs selected the size of iPAd to be 7 inches, and he also recommended that 10 inches would have been better. Like iPhone, iPad also designed to be controlled by bare fingers. The display also consists of ambient light sensor which helps to adjust the screen brightness. It also helps to view it in portrait and landscape mode. The screen rotation is also an in-built facility present in iPad which helps to rotate it in all 4 directions. This device has no inherent orientation and only consists of home button changes. The power battery of iPad consists of lithium ion polymer which are the latest Japanese technologies used. The internal storage of iPad is 64GB (Cortes, Rafter, 2007).

Neither is it business versatility, benefit closely related to cost-savings. Business versatility has risen in importance recently as companies understand that the ability to react quickly to market conditions. The opportunities are one of the chief protections they have against business risk. Here, is where smartphones, in particular, show promise. To understand the adoption of esoteric technological areas such as enterprise search or grid computing, look to the need for business versatility.

After all, the reasons for technological progress are; benefits-based. We did not jump on tablets because the iPad happened to have a feature set, any more than we jumped on virtualization because VMware's ESX Server 3.0 had achieved a particular performance level.
