Origin

Facebook was born on February 4, 2004 as the internal network of friendship for the students of Harvard College. The founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, who is also a member of the 2006 class, never dreamed of rapid expansion and huge runaway success of his experiment at Harvard, will be shot at(Bellamy 3). The name was inspired from a user's universities in the United States to give their newly enrolled student paper, the introduction of people on campus to them.

Help with the site was given by two of his friends, Andrew McCollum and Eduardo Saverin. The team joined Chris Hughes and Dustin Moskovitz within two months after launch. In May 2004, the entire team moved to Alto (Calif.), to focus on the expansion strategy on the site. There are more people to join Adam D'Agelo, Sean Parker, Divya Narendra, Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss. In the same year passed, the half-million dollars from Peter Thiel of the system PayPal, glory and in May 2005, Accel Partners offered 12.8 million dollars in capital. By December 2005, Face-book has been boasting membership of one million people.

"Facebook", which was originally limited only to Harvard in the spread of prisoners in a short period of only two months to all schools in the Ivy League(Treadaway Mari 312).
