There are three major roles of faculty members, which include: role modeling, director of learning, and collaborator. They are liable for demonstrating functions, which includes: maintenance of clinical expertise, commitment towards professional nursing, and take part in continual professional development by employing practices that are beneficial in fostering a learning environment. The biggest and the major concern in the profession of nursing is the lacking of qualified and skilled nursing faculty that has played a major contribution in the shortage of nurses (Peterson, Broderick, et.al., 1979).
