The aim and objective of this paper is also to discuss the story of a novel from variegated perspectives. The story that is selected for the purpose of this assignment is “The strange case of doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” by Robert Louis Stevenson. The story of “The strange case of doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” is the original title of a novel. This novel was written by Robert Louis Stevenson. This story of “The strange case of doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” was first published in the year 1886. This story is remembered today or talks about with the names of Jekyll & Hyde. The novel is based on the story of a London based lawyer whose name is John Gabriel Utterson. In this story, Utterson conducts the process of investigation about the events that occur with his old friend whose name is Dr. Henry Jekyll and the evil Edward Hyde. The nub of the story revolves around mental and psychological problem that is commonly known as “split personality”. In this problem and psychological illness, within the personality of an individual there exist a number of other distinct personalities. The presence of other distinct personalities takes over the original personality of the individual suffers from the illness.

Robert Louis Stevenson was born in an era that is considered as the height of the Victorian era.
