The events that led to the forming of the movie 'The Wave' date back to the year 1967 when Ron Jones, who was a teacher in a high school located near San Francisco, carried out an experiment involving his students which gave them an insight to the concept of fascism. He did this by means of acting in class the situations that caused the Nazis to come to power.
