Introduction

History of the Strike

In its original conception, understood as the eventual cessation of work in order to collapse the production process and try to put the interest of the employer, the employment of workers, the strike is judged at first, as a reprehensible act of violence and banned. In 1303 King Edward I of England banned strikes. The same thing happened in France and Germany in the sixteenth century. In 1539 a strike by impostors in Lyon lasted so long that gave room to Francis I issue a severe edict, on December 28, 1541, barring any abrupt suspension of work. (Silver, 2003, 66)

Pressure from organized labour and the growing contradictions between capital and labour forced the liberal state to intervene within the framework of labour relations, recognizing the strike as a right. Understood as inherent human freedom, the strike would lead to the exclusion of existing legislation, measures for its limitation, admitting that such freedom is the quality of that which is not subject to any kind of consent. The strike does not diminish and, under any law, and justified itself as a natural result of individual freedom to work. How soon would check in praxis, this thesis developed the design of this instrument as a right of personality or untouchable absolute right, inherent in human beings. (Edgerton, 2005, 9)

The Strike

The strike could be defined as any disturbance caused in the process productive and mostly temporary cessation of work, workers agreed to the defence and promotion of a target employment or socioeconomic status.

"The strike is coercion, punishment, retaliation exercised by workers in relation to employers who refuse to accept those claims. The strike has always potentially involved in a violent, even if the process develops in the form and means peaceful. (Scharf, 2007, 42)

In any case the strike is the ultimate resource that assists workers to defend their rights when they failed conciliation talks all understanding in the business.

Discussion

Activity of strikes has increased in recent years because of the following reasons:

Education:

-Against the job cuts and the deterioration of their purchasing power.

Budget reductions:

To take the example of National Education, the 2009 budget is characterized by massive job losses (13 500 including 5500 in the second degree) but also by an unprecedented decline in funding. For the first time since 1945, appropriations (excluding cost of pension benefits) are declining in constant Euros. This budget clearly shows that National Education is not a government priority. The consequences will be a further deterioration of conditions of work and study for students and staff: reducing the supply of training, increased staffing, job cuts, increase in multi-school assignments. (Smith, 2006, 14)

The scapegoat for the crisis:

Mass unemployment, recession, purchasing power wheezy: the government puts the responsibility for this situation on the state and all the mechanisms of solidarity that would hamper job creation and power purchase. One can legitimately wonder about these massive restrictions provided for several months when at the same time tens of billions of ...
