Introduction

Training purpose differ significantly depending on the target audience and purpose of training. It is necessary to design training programs based on the intellectual and absorbing capacity of individuals. Intense literature has been developed on stress management. However, level of awareness still differ greatly age wise based on the experiences of the individual and cognitive capacity (McNamara 2000, 12). Maturity of mind and personal experiences enable person to manage himself in stressful situation effectively. Contrastingly, teenagers are not exposed to stressful situations to same extent and hence lack ability to tackle complexities while managing themselves (McNamara 2000, 18). Therefore, training objectives and contents will change for each target group which is discussed in proceeding texts.

Training Program for Teenagers

Training program for teenager mostly emphasize on increasing the awareness. The main objective of training is to enhance cognitive capacity of teenagers to process complex information and build abilities to handle stressful situations (McNamara 2000, 23). Therefore, main goal of training program for teenager would be to increase awareness and enhancing their interpretive and self-management abilities in situations characterized as stressful.

Training Methods and Objective

The most appropriate training techniques would be lectures, case studies, role play characterized as creating stress on mind, brain storming, and training through placement (Smith 2002, 69). The main objective in this case is to convey the concept of stress management to teenagers and build ability to analyze the situations and identify the factors that result in creating stress. Visual presentations and real life case studies would be valuable in this training program. Lectures content will be divided into different sections which include introduction, identification of causes of stress, effective techniques for responding to stress, and analysis of situations.
