Introduction

Wheatfield with Crows was made in Auvers-sur-Oise, July 1890. Painting, Wheatfield with Crows by Vincent van Gogh is one of the famous Van Gogh's final works, and is one of the most controversial, most powerful and probably one of the subject of speculation. Many interpretations of this work is probably more diverse than any other in the work of Van Gogh. Some see it as Van Gogh's "suicide note" put on the canvas, while others go beyond superficial overview of the subject and a more positive approach. And some more extreme critics cast their vision even further - beyond the canvas and the brushstrokes - in order to translate the image into an entirely new language of the subconscious.

Many of them argued that it was his last job, or even that he committed suicide when he wrote it, seeing the dramatic, cloudy sky filled with crows and a clipping path is obviously a sign of his coming end. However, contrary to popular myth Wheatfield with Crows is not the final work of Van Gogh. It should recognize that it makes for a neatly wrapped gift of interpretation, if the picture were really definitive works by van Gogh before his suicide. The painting, of course, turbulent, and, of course, conveys a sense of loneliness in the fields - a powerful image of Van Gogh as defeated and solitary artist in his later years. In addition, both popular movies Lust for Life and Vincent and Theo to rewrite history and depict this painting as Van Gogh last - with a lot of interest in dramatic effect than historical accuracy. As an ideal case, however, an interesting, albeit apocryphal, the story should be put to rest in the face of irrefutable fact.

Accurate dating of Wheatfield with Crows is difficult because of its similarity to other works that Van Gogh wrote, and wrote about, with the same period.
