Summary

After the preface explains that the topic and date from 1523 to about 1780, the cult of war consists of nine chapters and a conclusion. It begins with Luther in Wittenberg and the liturgy, and then back to the Catholic liturgical practice up to the Reformation, which are traced through the sixteenth century as the background for Luther's changes. Luther's photo as it is conservative liturgical reformer who took on community sings he inherited, and therefore "not so much as a pioneer in popularizing" it.
