Value and practice of human science philosophy

The frame of reference of mainstream thinking, my major value and practice in nursing is the willingness to achieve unity. From a feminist perspective, the real value and practice involves divisiveness and fragmentation that sustains oppressive relations in an industrialized, patriarchal medical system. Remaining divided from one another serves the interests of the dominant group. Rather than benefiting us, fragmentation in nursing serves to confuse us, to keep our minds and hearts focused on the dominant system for solutions that never materialize. (Carper 2007)

Other developmental value and practice includes cognitive, moral, psychosexual, and emotional. Development in each of these areas may proceed at different rates. The lines are represented as helical in nature, and when viewed together form a pattern of an individual or organization, which is subject to change over time and under different conditions. The concept of lines, within the context of the four quadrant model, is similar to the unitary principle of resonance. (Capraro 2006)

The central focus of my values and practice for the profession of nursing is using the art and science of caring to improve the health of human beings within their environments. How Fawcett's meta-paradigm concepts (nursing, human being, health and environment) are defined can be divisive when a definition. (Capraro 2006)

Denies one or more of the ways in which we know and come to know as nurses. When understood through an Integral perspective, the meta-paradigm concepts are a powerful unifying core for the profession of nursing to translate amongst ourselves the importance of our work, even when conceptualized and carried out in so many different ways. Additionally, the meta-paradigm concepts provide common ground for communicating between nursing theories that are based on divergent philosophical underpinnings. (Calabria 2005)

Career path and York MSCN program

My career for nursing is with a vocation horizon filled with possibilities, numerous vocation seekers glimpse nursing as a dynamic occupation that adds numerous pays and large promise for vocation advancement. Beyond the high demand for doctors to supply direct care, doctors are furthermore required as investigators, healthcare managers, teachers, principle analysts, doctor bosses, and unaligned practitioners. (Boykin 2004) The newest expansion from the area pledge new doctors effectively unlimited possibilities for progression to sophisticated qualifications in nursing perform, as well as possibilities for teaching. With wages ascending, possibilities increasing, and the demand for nursing services on the increase, it is now a stimulating time to address a vocation in nursing. (Calabria 2005)

Professional nursing at Yorks MSCN program delivers comprehensive health care of the highest standard. JPS employs more than 750 RNs and LVNs in more than 40 inpatient and outpatient specialties. (Capraro 2006)
