Introduction

Zionists claim the Ertz Israel or the Land of Israel as their promised Holy Land, given to them by God Himself. They claim it as the homeland of the Jews. It is based on historic and religious traditions that link the Jews to the region of Palestine. It does not constitute a uniform ideology but rather is a mix of different ideologies. Some of them are Religious, Labor, Revisionist and Green Zionism. The Bible of Hebrews provides borders of a sovereign state each having a different purpose. . It is a pro Islamic organization that governs the Gaza Strip in Palestine. It also runs a military wing. It won the previous elections in the Palestine.

The Bible of Hebrews provides borders of a sovereign state each having a different purpose. These are defined in Book of Genesis and Book of Ezekiel. Genesis describes the borders of the Jewish land promised to the descendents of Abraham through his grandson Jacob. It describes these territories in terms of ancient kingdoms and states. More precise information is given in Exodus. It describes the borders much more clearly. It talks of a kingdom having borders at the Red Sea, The Mediterranean and the river Euphrates. These are also described as the boundaries of the kingdom of David. Further detail also describes that this kingdom is to be divide among various tribes of Israel. This region is then termed as the land of “Canaan”. The location is further provided in Ezekiel as the land where the Jews will live till the end of days. This description includes eastward up to Syria, western shore the Red Sea, northern border beyond Lebanon and the southern borders to Egypt (Prior 1999).

Zionism

Zionists are people that follow Zionism. It is a movement of Jews for nationalization. It was started to establish and maintain a culture of Jews in the territorial region named as the Land of Israel. Zionists oppose the absorption of Jews in other communities. They pushed for the return of Jews to Israel to free them from persecution, discrimination and exclusion that were occurring in other communities. This movement emerged in the late 19th century and soon found able leadership. It started in Europe and the movement tracked its goals by colonizing the Palestine region. In their thinking, they believed that the Land of Israel was occupied by other people. After the establishment of Israel, the movement continues its goals on behalf of keeping the Israeli state safe from various threats. The opponents of Zionism term this movement as a racist one (Fishburn).

After encompassing two thousand years of existence without a national state, the Jews sought the natural need for a Jew controlled state. Zionist movement was found by Jews who were secular as a response to other anti Semitism movements. These policies were in use in France and in Russia.
