ABSTRACT

This research study is conducted to examine the differences in pupil's perceptions of schools approaches to raising achievement. This research study also shade light on the differences in the perceptions of students of the effectiveness of the interventions. The ideal outcomes of this small research project would be to review the school's methodology when gaining background research on targeted groups. To pursue alternative interview processes that allow for more qualitative results and to involve the school process. The latter is of importance to the project because there is a hope to highlight to management that targeted groups can feel demoralised about the choices made in their selective grouping. For these reasons this research study chosen to carry out research with a small group of Black Caribbean boys who have previously been involved in research within the Learning Support Assistants. Based on participants' perceptions, and literature review outlined in study, teachers must create a lesson plan that includes a classroom management plan to have a successful and rewarding school year. Teachers need to spend time establishing daily routine for students, letting them know what is expected and what will be the consequences for not meeting those expectations.

CHAPTER # 1: INTRODUCTION

Background of the Study

The researcher conducted this research study to gain an insight of intervention groups which is based on research and data collected on 9 Black Caribbean Boys. The researcher examines the Learning Support Assistants who give specific support to students with Special Educational Needs. This includes physical disabilities, learning difficulties and behavioural difficulties. This research study focused on the key students which have statements, as well as all those with difficulties, in order to break down their barriers to learning and help them to engage with the wider social arena. The school has over two thousand students from a wide demographic (Allen 2009 87). There is a large middle class intake of students alongside many who are free school meals and have English as a second language and have a large student intake of Turkish and Black Caribbean boys also.

The recent economic crash appears to have caused an even bigger divide within the school's student ...
