Task Overview

The purpose of this assignment is to assess different learning outcomes under the discipline of Organisation Behaviour. The learning outcomes explains different concepts that includes the understanding of relationship between culture and structure of organisation, different approaches for the leadership management, methods of using motivational theories in the organisations, and mechanisms for the development of effective teamwork in the organisation.

This assignment particularly uses the second case study to compare and contrast the motivation theories for two different companies that includes Taylor Woodrow Company and Egg Company. This facilitates to demonstrate the understanding of working collaboratively with others through groups, teamwork, and understanding different group dynamics. The assignment consists of six questions that needs to be answered in the context of case study.

Leadership Styles

There are different leadership styles that are used different according to the nature, workforce, and turnover of any organization. The purpose of this leadership in the context of management is to implement plans for providing business direction and motivate employees within the organization (Androniceanu, 2011, pp. 706-717). The primary purpose of manager or leaders is to boost the best results from the people according to their skills and abilities. Goleman has defined six different styles of leadership in different organisations (Joshi, 2013, n.p.).

Visionary: It is an art of effective leaders to identify the processes, steps, methods, and forms of leadership for its achievement with and through people. Visionary leadership explains the capability of managers to formulate and articulate credible, attractive, and realistic vision of the company's future for process improvement of the present condition.

Coaching: Coaching can be defined as a process of personal development to leaders to provide assistance in achievement of professional and personal goals for organizational benefits that includes enhancing productivity, greater job satisfaction, retention of valued talent, high-potential performance, and job satisfaction (Crandall et al., 2010, n.p.).

Democratic: Also known as participative leadership that allows group members to show more participative role in decision making to share ideas, engage in processes, and rewarded for creativity.

Affiliative Leadership: Affiliative style creates harmony in an organization and emphasizes teamwork by connecting employees together.

Coercive: This is a type of demanding style of leadership. It fundamental element is to control jobs, actions, and rewards of people through explicit and direct instructions.

Pacesetting: Leader sets high standards and expects quick results. It works best on skilled and motivated staff and when the leader needs quick result.
