Introduction

For the paper, the components associated with attitudes are covered, in addition to the functions that are being associated with attitude. In addition to this, the function of attitudes and the components that make up an attitude would be covered and discussed in the circumference of the paper.

One practical approach to attitudes is that people hold thoughts for the reason that those attitudes offer a function. Functions deal with the emotional impetus why individuals hold their approaches. Early theorizing regarding attitude functions implicit that an approach offers a main function (Hockenbury, 2007).

Influence of an Attitude

In order to analyze and comprehend attitude formation, there are multiple factors that come into play, leading for the person to display the respective behavior (Hockenbury & Hockenbury, 2007). Knowingly or within the subconscious, it becomes visible that a person's attitude is evident that not only would provide for the person's behavior to differ among situations, but that they are able to make way for defining their opinions with their environment.

Components of an Attitude

Amongst the multiple factors and forces that influence an attitude, there are three (3) factors that are in position of transforming and molding attitudes among people. These three components - cognition, affect and behavior - are not only responsible for the development and the establishment of attitude, but are responsible for molding and crafting the minds of people.

Cognition implies brain processes and thought patterns that are infused in the minds of the individual at a tender age and gradually tend to ferment over the passage of time as the preferences of people develop during their lifetime (Hogg & Vaughan, 2005).
