Culture

Culture is defined as term, values, traditions, norms, clothes, food and lifestyles in a particular society or an organization. The culture of an organization is dependent on the behavior, values and practices of people within the premises of an organization and outside of an organization. There are various types of culture in an organization. Different authors have described different cultures within an organization.

Normative Culture

This is the culture in which the norms and procedures of organizations are clearly defined. The rules, laws and regulations of organizations are served as guidelines for employees. The employees are bound to follow these norms and procedures, and they behave in an ideal way. Employees have no courage to break these rules and principles and strictly followed these rules.

Pragmatic Culture

This culture holds the focus on clients and external parties. This culture helps the organization to satisfy customer needs. In order to achieve specific goals, organizations tend to fulfill customer needs and demands. The foremost aim of many organizations is to satisfy customer needs in order to accomplish goals. Employees focus to accomplish certain tasks each time and consider customer demands. The organizations have not set any strict rules. Employees are not bound to follow each rule in this culture. They treat their customers as gods. Every employee struggles to satisfy customer demands at any cost.

Academy culture

Academy culture is the culture which tends to hire skilled employees. The responsibilities, tasks and functions distributed to each employee are on the basis of their skills. Employees are not bound to work beyond their skills and limitations. There are trainings for employees for their work and designations. Work is distributed considering the educational background and previous experiences of individuals. Management also struggle to provide knowledge to their employees and training time to time in order to update their organization. Employees are also willing to work in such culture for long span of time.

Baseball Team culture

This culture considers the employees as the key asset of an organization. They are considered as the treasure of organizations. Employees have the major role in bringing success to organizations. Employees have the upper hand in such culture, and they do not worry about their organization. The companies like advertising agencies, event management companies, and financial institutions follow such cultures.

Tough Guy Culture

In a tough guy culture, feedbacks are mandatory. The performances and tasks of the employees are reviewed from time to time. The work is carefully looked after and monitored. Team managers are there to guide and manage the team whenever required. Employees are under continual supervision in such culture.

Process Culture

In such culture, employees focus on procedures and processes of the organization. There is not such value of feedbacks and performances reviews in process culture. Employees tend to work according to the ideologies of workplace. Government organizations generally follow this culture.

Geographic segmentation
