Introduction

The operations of the business and understanding of the market by the management plays an important role in the success, growth and development of business (Stevenson & Hojati, 2007 pp. n.d). In this business report, an organization is selected and is evaluated from the management perspective. This report includes the correct identification and description of all the components of operations and their inter relationships, critical analysis of all characteristics of services that the selected organization provides and the evaluation of the nature of services and how it applies to the selected organization.

British Airways

The British Airways is selected organisation for this business report. The airline is the largest UK's international airlines with its flag carrier and flies to more than 200 destinations worldwide in the best located airports. On the base of passengers' carrier it is second largest airlines. Heathrow and Gatwick are of the World's premier airports and the principal place of business for British Airways. Heathrow and Gatwick are large geographical areas and have a comparatively high proportion of point to point business. The airlines provide air cargo services and scheduled passenger services Worldwide. British Airlines has countered many financial losses due to lack of international market research, employee unions (strike problems) and many more. The government of the United Kingdom established British Airways in 1972 to manage British European Airways and British Overseas Airway Corporation two nationalised airlines including two small regional airlines. In 1987, the British Airways was privatised by Conservative government. British Airways has long haul fleet of 588 airplanes (British Airways, 2014 pp. n.d).

British Airways offers world class services to its passengers and take extra care of its clients. British Airways is committed to provide hassle-free service to its passengers. Many service managers feel difficulties in providing the description about the services. Due to intangibility of the services it is difficult for a marketer or manager to convince a client. The concern for entire service experience is created by the existence of customer or client in the process. For instance, for some individuals the ambiance of the airplane is as important as safety as they want to enjoy a journey that is full of comfort giving second priority to other variables. Secondly, the attitude of the receptionist in a hotel can shape an opinion of the client (Fitzsimmons & Fitzsimmons, 2011 pp. n.d).
