Introduction

Dementia is loss of mental ability which affects thinking, memory, perception, problem solving, and concentration. It is result of damaged brain cells or deficiency of some brain parts that are linked with the process of thinking (Aukner et.al, 2013). A number of forms of dementia like an example of degenerative disease Alzheimer's. This type of dementia get worse by time, on the other hand, other forms this disease like vascular dementia, normally not get worse with time and might be non-degenerative. Aging is the process of getting old over time. It can be define as the process of getting older, weaker and loss different senses like sight, hearing, walk etc. As men or women getting old they experience some psychological, social and physical change.

Dementia is related to aging because as people getting older they loss their memory, thinking power, decision power, and problem solving skills (Couilliot et.al, 2013). People suffer from this disease can become confound, show repetitive and restless behavior. Family members of patient suffering from dementia also face impenetrability because these patients also have other problems with dementia like aggression, depression, incontinence, inappropriate sexual performance, and disturbed sleep (Morishita et.al, 2013). A normal person experiencing aging not remembers the events of past but the person suffering from dementia loss the conversation of recent event. Healthy aging is a process of use some methods and precautionary measures in order to live remaining years of life in good health.

Institutionalization of elders: It is the concept of shifting old age people in different caring institutes for the purpose of treatment (Pan et.al, 2013). In United States, most of the people transfer their old family members to hospitals or healthcare institutes in order to provide careful environment to their family members or other old people in the society. Mostly, old people have the symptoms of dementia and because of these symptoms like weak memory and recognizing ability they required extra care and affection and this can be possible only in healthcare organizations.

Negative stereotype of elders in media (ageism)

Ageism is unenthusiastic behaviour against an individual or a group on the basis of age. It can affect employees of every age. It is behaviour of people against some people only because of age. According to some researches the experience of women in this regard is greater as compared to men. It is the actions of the society towards old people, which is hurtful for them. Mostly old age people face the problem of negative behaviour of media because dementia (Couilliot et.al, 2013). Most of the young adults do not give importance to old age people and think that they are useless for the world. In some cases because of weak memory, patients failed to recognise their own name, age, and family members. The treatment of young people towards old age people is miserable in most of the societies.
