Introduction

The sector of construction and construction activities has played a major and significant role in developing and growing the country. Construction industry has been the major source of development, economic growth and improved economy all across the world. Engineering services in the field of construction is playing an effective and efficient role for developing and enhancing economic uplift of the entire world. As the construction industry is contributing to the economic development and economic growth throughout the world; thus, contractors, engineers and service providers are required to employ effective and helpful management strategies so as to manage all of the construction projects in best possible and efficient way (Construction excellence, 2004, Pp.2-4). Thus, there is a great significance of managing the entire construction project effectively so as to ensure high quality and timely projects for ensuring economic growth through effective construction industry. The sector of construction within the United Kingdom has experienced a substantial and considerable growth by an average value of almost 8% in the year 2010 and almost by the average value of 2.8% in the year 2011. However, due to economic recession which is hitting the economy of the entire globe has contributed to the decline in the construction sector in the late 2011 (Construction excellence, 2004, Pp.2-4). The industry of construction in the United Kingdom is still expected to grow and develop in the upcoming future and it is developing as compared to the year 2011. Thus, for introducing efficiency and effectiveness in the sector of construction of the United Kingdom, there is a great significance and necessity of employing effective and efficient strategies for the project managers in order to ensure high quality management of construction projects (Construction excellence, 2004, Pp.2-4).

Case Study 1

The case study is related to the UELCMD Construction, Management and Design Ltd who has been considered recently for the construction project. UELACE International Ltd is the developer of the construction project and being a project manager of UELACE International Ltd, I will play a significant role in executing and accomplishing the entire construction project successfully. The project is related to the construction of seven identical prestigious blocks having fifteen floors in each of the building. The project will be situated in the central London on a prime land. Each and every unit of the apartment will be capable of overlooking the River Thames. All of the buildings of the project will be fully air conditioned as well as protected with the closed-circuit television. The project will incorporate lift as well which will stop at each and every floor of the building. The lift will be completely automatic. Furthermore, the estate will encompass four-store basement for car parking, five tenni9s courts, one Olympic size swimming pool, a four-storey clubhouse, a unique landscape fronting the building and three squash courts.
