Abstract

The research paper explores the topic of Media Communication that how it impacts the political behavior of people. The study focuses on the cellular technology and its influence on the people's attitude and behavior towards politics. To conduct this research mainly secondary data has been used. In past, analysts have conducted such researches and thus some of the data has been retrieved from their results. Further, in accordance with the prevailing results, the expected findings of this research are that cell phone has become a magnificent medium that influences people's behavior in every aspect. Thus it influences political perspective of the people too.

Introduction

The scholars continue to debate over the effects of the technology that how it impacts the behavior of people. In particular, focus is on the effects of media on the voting attitude and political behavior. In the past decade, we have experienced the transformative impact of technology, in particular, cellular and internet technology. We see nowadays that instead of news photographers clicking photos, hiding in the corner of the street, now we see hundreds of people in the street having cell phones in their hand, capturing increasingly high definition videos and high quality pictures of state oppression. Each day the pictures from all around the world are updated on the internet, which are easily accessible from the cell phone. In 1983, Orwell, G said in his book “1984”, that the Big Brother would keep a watch over us. Surprisingly, now it seems like that we get to keep an eye over the Big Brother. The greatest benefit of such technology has enabled the world to live openly with no privacy, and it may be said to be a planet with no secrecy.

Research Proposal

In this research paper, the role of mass communication of media has been explored that to what extent it has been shaping the opinion of the people. Further in this research, we are interested in understanding what role cell phone is playing in providing political information, and how that use of cell phone was related to their political attitudes. The study has also examined the effects of media on the voting attitude and political behavior. However, it has been witnessed on several occasions that media communication has played a vital role in creating false image of politics by exploiting it. Whereas, some political parties also use such technologies to spread false image of their rivals in order to increase their number of votes in future election.

Literature Review

Many analysts have conducted the research to know the impact of media communication upon the people's political behavior, such as voting attitude. The most extensive research of the 2001 UK election was conducted by Clarke et. al (2004), where he has compared the voting attitudes.
