Child's Development Case Study

Introduction

When it comes to understanding development of child, there is ample literature for understanding and comprehending the various trends and complexities involved with reference to psychological development. Whenever individuals have been undertaken for the purpose of understanding their thinking patterns, ways of living, acts of thought and expression, it shall always link back to the roots where all individuals had come from (Charlesworth, 2010).

Discussion

For the purpose of the child development assignment, I have chosen 6 years old girl name Dania, who has just started to her school. Dania is a girl who loves to communicate with others, recognize the distinction things in people, willing to give more to others, but in return expect more from them. However, she likes to keep herself busy, full enthusiasm, give value to others, she sometimes became sensitive, recognize errors, ability to self-evaluation. She is firm, reliable, reasonable, strong sense of what is right and what is wrong. She likes to spend much time in discussion. I spend around 4 hours with her and during those hours I observed the psychology of the child. Moreover I came across that children have the same physical, mental, emotional and social needs as an adult. Hence it is essential to focus on their needs, provide them with a good environment. Individual differences in personality are universal which are found mostly in small children (Adams, 2009).

Observation 1:

I took Dania to the garden for an hour and watched her while she was playing with other children. There she was leading a queue, a leader ruling over other children with strong communication skill. She was talking in the same way like her mother. The same tone, the same accent, same language and same eye movement. Talking to her mother, I came to know that she like to interact with people and act in the same way like they do. Hence, I concluded that children learned only in the interaction with adults, rather than with peers who were in there level of knowledge. The adult provides a child with learning and forests to the zone of proximal development has been removed. An example of this could include the mother teaching her child how to drink from a cup. Mother could model of action for the child, the mother could hold the cup until the baby's mouth, then the child may try to raise the cup to her lips, and, finally, his mother would help the child to coordinate the activities until the child has acquired skills. Language, according to Vygotsky, it is a medium through which culture is transmitted knowledge (Harwood, et al., 2008).

How children interact with each other, they learn the language and use it to organize their thoughts. It is understood that, as we are talking about someone or something shapes our perception of that object or person who drew our attention to some features. As a result, language is a product of culture, the structure of speech built into ...
