CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION

The term fatigue is perceived as a non specific symptom for the reason that this symptom is indicative of numerous conditions and causes. In much psychiatric and physical illness, temporary physical conditions, along with a medical treatment and medication response this symptom occurs. This condition has emerged currently as an illness and the primary symptom of this condition is chronic fatigue and it is also accompanied by a variety and a combination of other symptoms. The incapacitating and devastating effect of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) can have a thoughtful impact on an individual's daily life, creating new limitations and necessitating the patients to make noteworthy lifestyle changes. The chronic fatigue syndrome is an enigmatic medical disorder of the current years; it strikes individuals in their most productive years. The cause and treatment of chronic fatigue illness are still under a controversial debate, this study is therefore undertaken to unravel a variety of queries surrounding the characteristics, features and this disorder.

An individual suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome gets totally overtired and worn out. The severe tiredness makes it difficult to fulfil daily task and a variety of individual's does not recover after rest or sleep, the tiredness they feel do not go away. It turns out to be worse by thinking, exercising and moving. The chronic fatigue illness occurs over time and a person mainly gets tired over months and weeks. The individuals who suffer from chronic fatigue syndrome feel extremely tired one day and feel completely fine the other day.
