Title

The title states “to Enhance Medication Compliance” is a key and target population is Congestive heart failure patient

Abstract

The abstract was very clear and concise about what they were going to research, which was, to determine that whether daily regular telephone or video telephone reminders would increase the proportion of prescribed cardiac medication from talking a sample from Congestive Heart Failure. The abstract was very detailed and summarized the method used to evaluate prescribed cardiac medication. The overall result of the evaluations was also stated in the abstract with a well-identified conclusion that provided readers with recommendation for nurse safety based on the research outcomes.

Introduction

Statement of the Problem

Is the problem stated unambiguously, and is it easy to identify?

The research problem was clearly stated in the first paragraph of the introduction medication is critical element in cardiac medication and noncompliance poses serious health risk to those who are not willing to take their medication as prescribed. In the introduction it is clear that the population the research study will focus on those Elderly individuals who face congestive heart failure.

Does the problem statement build a cogent, persuasive argument for the new study?

The research problem has great significance for health professional, prior to this research study, to determine that video or regular telephone reminders would increase the proportion of cardiac medications.

Does the problem have significance for nursing?

The research problem has great significance for current nurse practice, prior to this research study, because in observational studies continuous measurement of posture and subjective evaluation of observer can lead to imprecision.

Is there a good match between the research problem and the paradigm and methods used?

This research study will study, “to determine whether daily video telephone or regular reminders would increase proportion of prescribed cardiac medication taken in sample of elderly individuals who have congestive heart failure”. Therefore, it has been possible for the first time in nursing professions to measure the volunteers' postures and activities under practical conditions in an objective, continuous and detailed manner.” (Freitag et al, 2007).

Is a quantitative approach appropriate?

For this research study a quantitative approach is appropriate, because the researchers have researched other methods and their outcomes.

Hypothesis/Research Question

Are research questions and/ or hypothesis explicitly stated? If not, is there absence justified.

Research question hypothesis has clearly stated that there is a significance relations between telephonic calls intervention with patient.

Are questions and hypotheses appropriately worded, with clear specifications of key variables and the study population?

It would determine that whether daily telephone call or video calls would increase proportions of cardiac medication, and researcher taking a sample population of Congestive Heart Failure patients.

Are the questions/hypotheses consistent with the literature review and the conceptual framework?

There was literature reviewed that supported the problem, other reviews provided information that went against and were not beneficial to this research study. On the other hand, researchers have studied a variety of factors that posited to affect the medication compliance among elderly ...
