Society is a name given to systems or organizations created by the humans. Societies are what connect the individuals in a common culture. Culture is considered to be the basic component of the society. Culture is known to be a set of rules, traditions, as well as symbols which help shape thoughts, behaviors and feelings of the groups of people. Culture includes all the things created by the humans. These would include beliefs, habits, artifacts as well as arts. These are passed on from one generation to the other. Societies distinguish from one another according to these formulations. Amongst the cultures include norms, values as well as language of the societies.
Language is considered to be a set of symbols through which humans are able to facilitate the process of communicating the feelings, ideas as well as experiences with one another. Language is not just known to be a means to express oneself or a tool, but it also helps individuals significantly in shaping the experience of the world and what is seen around individuals. Values are known to be the ideas that determine what is considered bad, good, desirable or undesirable. Whereas, norms are the behaviors as well as the concepts which constitute what should be termed as normal. Norms may originate from values but they also tend to differ from them as well. Norms are responsible for establishing the expectations that help interaction amongst humans.

The cultures that are intended to be contrasted in the paper include the cultures of UK and the US. Between the two, there are numerous differences in the cultures, along with various similarities as well. The people in both the cultures have a different way of talking and communicating with each, their accents vary substantially and their general tones are different as well. They have different approaches of finding jobs, making friends and interacting within an office environment. Not just these, but the social and religious differences are also very different from each other.
The people in UK and the both people in US both talk in the same language, which is English. However, the accents and pronunciations as well as some spellings of the words vary. Apart from that, there are numerous differences between the two cultures. Both the cultures share many of the same historic events. The entertainment and the food cultures of both the US and the UK share a similarity. Even the brands are similar including Kellogg's cereal, Cadbury, etc. In the entertainment part, the US are mostly recognized for watching commercial shows including American Idol, The Office and even Dancing with the Stars. Similarly the people in the United Kingdom watch shows like Pop Idol, The Office as well as Dancing on the Ice.
