Abstract

The Control & Learning theory, focuses on explaining the reasons that dominate the law-abiding behavior. The Control & Learning theory considers domestic violence between the couple as an event/incident caused by social factors. Under this approach, the general acceptance of domestic violence as a method of conflict resolution within the family and community, coupled with structural inequality within the family and community, would be the root causes of domestic violence. This model maintains that Domestic Violence is the result of the structure of global society. Beliefs and cultural values largely determine the occurrence of abuse. Domestic Violence in light of the Criminological Theory of Control & Learning

Introduction

Control & Learning theory in criminology is a perspective that seeks to explain the distribution of crime and delinquency among individuals, groups and societies. Unlike the theories of behavioral science, trying to discover what motivates people to steal and be aggressive, control theories begin with the assumption that the motives for the crime and Domestic Violence are similar to the reasons for the other behaviors. Control & Learning theories begin with the assumption that is made problematic behavior, and try to understand the forces that compel most people most of the time, to behave in a non-criminal.

The theory of self locates the trends as on the links that form the beginning of life between parents or other caregivers and children. These links or social ties to develop the tendency to regulate individual behavior in terms of the negative consequences of actions. The differences in education and other early childhood experiences create differences between people in terms of the ability to delay gratification wants and needs from short-term, and to avoid negative consequences long term. These negative consequences include the loss of respect and affection of others, academic achievement and employment. The theory of control & Learning has connections with the theories of self, and problem behaviors.
