The annual U.S. unemployment rates over the past six years.

Unemployment rate refers to the percentage of total unemployed people that are actively seeking jobs and willing to work in order to improve their lifestyle (International Monetary Fund, Research Dept, 2012). In last decade, Untied states unemployment has been always been ranged between 2.5% to 10.89%. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, this rate has been deemed as the lagging indicator since this does confirm the long term market trend rather foreshadowing long-term market trends.
