Role of Mathematical topics in achieving Student Learning in Education

Introduction

The topics being taught at schools throughout United Kingdom have certain goals associated with them. The most important goal associated with topics taught at Schools has been the aspect of Pupil Learning. Any topic which does not accomplish this goal does not foster long term growth for the children. The topics must be directed to achieve the goal of Pupil Learning (Flynn, 2007).

We would be looking at the role of teaching topics like Money matters and various topics in Mathematics. These topics are taught with a goal of pupil learning. There is no point in teaching pupils topics which they do not apply in their practical life (Donaldson, 2010).

All the topics taught to pupils must be in alignment with the goal of Pupil Learning. Teachers should have the objective of achieving pupil learning as a major topic outcome. If the children apply the learning to their practical life, it would have multiple benefits (Sutherland, 2012).

Significance of Mathematical Topics

Mathematics is one of the most important subjects having implications for today's Environment. With growing utilization of numbers and computations, it has become increasingly essential to put emphasis on Practical learning of Mathematics from the beginning of a child's studying mechanism (Mason, 2011).

There are multiple benefits attached with successful teaching of Mathematics. One of the most important goals of teaching Mathematics topics is to incorporate pupil learning so that they can apply mathematical concepts in their daily lives.

The productivity of a student largely depends on his efficiency in Mathematics concepts. There are a number of careers which require computational and number crunching skills. Only those students would be excelling in these types of careers that are proficient in Mathematical concepts.

It helps not only in the selection of a career but also in the career growth. Students proficient in Mathematical concepts would be more inclined to choose a Career based on financial or problem solving.

With the influx of rapid technological advancements, there has been greater requirement of Mathematical concepts for dealing with complicated situations. Students specializing in Mathematical concepts are more inclined to prosper than other students specializing in other areas (Dortmund, 2012).

The success of adequate understanding mechanisms at the grass roots level helps in the shaping up of future leaders specializing in Analytical and Problem Solving skills. We would look to give top priority in building analytical and reasoning skills in our students.

There should be a focus on building the mathematical base in students during the early years of their education. Building a solid base would result in students adopting the advanced concepts quickly at a later ...
