Introduction

Ethics is the set of beliefs and set of values an individual has. The values and beliefs can vary from society to society. An ethical act can be unethical in a distinct society. It should be made sure that every act should be ethical. Ethics is followed everywhere, in organizations, at schools, in homes etc. the aim and objective of this essay is to discuss the ethical views related to one real world contemporary problem. One of the most contemporary issues in today's society is related to the usage of computer. Codes of ethics are also outlined for the use of computer. Every person should make that he or she uses the computer according to the computer code of ethics. This paper will discuss the code of ethics with different perspectives; utilitarian, deontological and virtue ethics and various other perspectives.

Discussion

There are a lot of ethical theories according to which people should work. They should make sure that no unethical practice is followed in any work. The following theories of ethics with respect to the code of computer are as follows:

Ethical Problems

The ethical problem that is associtated with the usage of computer is that there are some people in our society who use computer for wrong acts or they do the misuse of the computer. Sometimes this miraculous machuines is used to steal personal information or sometimes it is used to steal and transfer unauthorized money. There are many ways in which people can misuse this machine. When there is a machine that is devised to facilitate human nature then it should be used in a positive ways.

Social, Legal, Cultural, Economic, Organizational Issues

As mentioned above that there can be a number of ways through which the machine of computer can be misused. Its usage also has legal, cultural, economical and organizational implications that can be regarded as unethical. If we talk about the social usage then we all know that through computer the whole world is connected and interlinked. This brings in limelight the misuse of computer through misuse of social networks. People may tsteal personal information or misues them. As a result of computer there are a lot of cultural changes are taking place. For instace, as a result of the digital liabraries the places that were famous for books appear to be empty. Economically computer is generating a lot of positive impacts. But, it has certain drawbacks too. People who become addicted to the computer and internet they spend a mammoth amount that despite their weak financial condition. However, they should pay priority to other factors instead they prefer to spen their money on computer. In organizations there are also ceratin ethical codes with which an employee is supposed to use the computer. In organizations, employees can use computer to take actions that are not in favor or in betterment of the organization. For instance, employees can use computer for personal use rather than using it to perform their task.
