Intellectual Method: Four Spiritual Laws

Summary

Four Spiritual Laws is a highly renowned method of evangelism, which is comprised of multiple Biblical verses for the development of its four laws. In this evangelistic method, Gospel of Jesus has been described by the interconnected construction of four laws. The first law is based upon the description of God's love for human beings and to develop that he has a magnificent plan for his beloved humans. As the verses of Bible suggests, “God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son. Anyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life” (John 3:16, NIRV). After describing this in the light of Biblical verses, the second law is based upon the development of humanity as separated from God, due to its attribute of sinfulness. On these bases, the second law proposes that humans cannot experience or understand the love of God and His magnificent plan for humans (Bright, 2012).

In the third law, it has been explained that provision for a man to overcome his nature as a sinner and acquire the love of God. The provision has been described in the face of Jesus to be the only provision of God for the sin of mankind. In this third law, it has been described that a man can know, and he also can experience the love of God and His plan, but the man must tend to acquire this understanding through the only provision of God that is Jesus Christ (Bright, 2012). His sacrifice for the all of the sins of mankind makes Jesus Christ the savior as it has been mentioned in the Bible “Jesus our priest offered one sacrifice for sins for all time. Then he sat down at the right hand of God” (Hebrews 10:12, NIRV). Lastly in the fourth law, it has been described the method to know God's plan and His love for mankind through Jesus Christ. The fourth law proposes that each individual is necessarily required to receive Jesus Christ as his Savior and his Lord because the Lord bridges the gap between mankind and God (Bright, 2012).

This evangelistic method is highly appealing to the intellectual domain of humans, as all four laws are described in a hierarchical manner and these laws are interrelated. All of these laws are developed in the light of Biblical verses, and it significantly preaches the Gospel of Jesus in a rational context.

Advantages and Disadvantages

As it has been mentioned above that this evangelistic method is based on intellectual appeal, so its first advantage is related to its nature. This method appeals enormously to the individuals, who require scientific or rational paradigms in order to understand life. Secondly, its beginning with a highly optimistic and positive aspect confronts the problem of individual's interest as the contemporary society is highly materialistic and interest oriented. These two advantages are highly related and efficiently intrinsic to this method of evangelism.
